KAROLINE FUNDER – Din Mørke Himmel

Art direction & photography for the visual universe surrounding Karoline Funder’s debut EP Din Mørke Himmel.

A project rooted in personal history and emotional landscapes.

The cover shows her childhood home. The light is on in her old room.

The house is still standing — as if nothing ever happened.

The visual universe was built on the idea of documenting what feels absent but still present.

Quietness as residue. A kind of post-event stillness — where something just happened, and the air still knows it.

Everything was shot on film to slow down the process, to listen closely to the image, and to create space for instinct.

A journalistic approach, but intimate. Almost like standing inside someone else’s memory.

The photos were taken in the places that shaped the music — not to illustrate, but to resonate.

To echo the feelings behind the songs. This was never just about visuals.

It was about holding space for a story, and translating that story into silence, texture, and light.

The collaboration became a friendship. A long, honest conversation about family, loss, and what we carry with us. That’s why this project means so much to me.

It’s a love letter to introspection and stillness.
